Some years ago I had the chance to chat with one of the greats of jazz guitar. I asked him if he always had a talent for music. He laughed and said that, in fact, exactly the opposite is TRUE.
He told me that as a young guitar student of his time was so bad that his teacher frustrated snatch the guitar in his hand and would try to instill some basic rhythm in his young brain into the room calling march left, right, left, right.
Even said that when he tried to read the music that sound that came out was absolutely no resemblance to the piece that was playing. However, became a musician who became famous for being able to play any score stood before him and playing so well that it was as if I had been doing for years.
These stories intrigued me and asked how he managed to go to such principles talent and progress in the famous musician who had become.
He said he believed strongly that today was his ability because of his lack of talent. He said he became so frustrated and embarrassed by their desperate need by playing music that he promised would be the conquest of the task no matter what.
He devised all sorts of exercises to help you develop a sense of pace and schedule. He practices reading scores, to the point where he graduated in thousands of different parts over the years. He took up the challenge of mastering music and totally devoted to the task.
Since he began to show the progress they also began to reach the congratulations of his professor of wonder and formally peers laughed at him and mocked him. He began to enjoy the compliments, until, What began as a determined act of frustration, eventually became a joy and love of his life.
The history of this gentleman is not the only of its kind. If you take the time to read biographies then find that, in every field of endeavor, there are countless stories of people who became great, despite or because of a lack of talent in this field.
So if the talent is not a necessary ingredient for success, what is it?
If you look for common trends among those who overcame a lack of talent you will find that each had a strong emotional incentive to succeed and each had a dedication of all consumers to perform tasks necessary requisite for success.
If you want to succeed then these are the two features for you to develop.
First all you need to develop a strong emotional impulse led to its success. This engine may be initially based on positive emotions or negative emotions. To the extent that lets get going and kept fighting and make someday turn into love and passion for their chosen field.
Then you need the dedication to move forward and keep getting up when knocked down. If something is worth mastering, then it is worth doing badly enough time to develop the skills necessary to do well. The important distinction here is that while you're doing wrong has to be aware searching, and trying ways to improve their performance by improving of shares.
If you ever have the temptation to use a lack of talent as an excuse not to become great then I suggest you read this article back and accept that the need for talent is more of qualifying.
