Best known for its striking, controversial – and sometimes outrageous collection – Jean-Paul Gaultier (24 April 1952, in Arcueil, France), never received education formal as a designer. He began creating sketches at an early age and was designing clothes for his mother and grandmother of 13 years of age. At 17, he sent sketches to haute couture designers like Pierre Cardin renowned. His talent impressed Cardin then hired him as assistant.
