For a beginning guitarist, and the difference between acoustic and electric guitar did not seem as obvious. I mean, they both have six strings and frets of law, Why should you have to choose?
Well, the main difference between the two instruments is that you make your decision set the course for any music style and career can be made of the time. Here are some detailed differences between acoustic guitars and electrical.
1. There is a difference in the game the precision needed.
With electric guitars, because of distortion and effects available, the amount of precision to make a guitar riff sound good is lower. By playing on an acoustic guitar, the sounds are so pure and mistakes can be ear much easier. For electric guitars, materials used can be wood, metal, and quite a few electronic parts installed around. Anyway, you should have a constant maintenance on the instrument you choose.
3. The craftsmanship of the instrument varies.
Personally, I believe that for an instrument that requires a natural reverb very sensitive and powerful as an acoustic guitar, a certain amount of physics and engineering of audio is needed. For that reason, I think the sound needs to produce a better craftsman, while electric guitars can be poorly made, but decent exit tones due to the equipment and accompanying accessories.
4. One of them is a bit more difficult to play chords on the other.
Some electric guitars are made to be played very easy and fast. The frets are low and the strings are placed too near the neck of the guitar.
However, acoustic guitars are known to actually "whip their fingers in a "how much effort must be used to press down the chords. I'm not saying it is unbearable, but definitely there is a difference between the two guitars.
5. Play by yourself in front of a public good can be enjoyable or a bit of a nuisance.
If you've gone to a night open microphone and overheard someone playing an acoustic guitar, you may have thought of him as decent and nice enough. Conversely, if he heard someone playing in place an electric guitar for yourself, you may have thought that is very annoying.
