What is the difference between light and dark (or "rich coffee")?

Do you have to do with the caffeine?

It has nothing to do with caffeine. I decaf very rich. Soft (or weak coffee) is usually done with a filter paper method. Most people using automatic drip machines, I use a manual drip pot. To make weaker coffee, do not use less coffee, add hot water to drink end. Coffee is strong for many more reasons to add your brewing method. This is problematic, since what really underextract flavors. The best way to a rich coffee flavor is to use a filtering method (French Press, Moka pot, espresso machine). These methods are not only very good in the extraction of flavor, no paper filters to contain essential oils that are an important part of the "real test" of coffee. One final point: The best coffee is fresh coffee. Canned ground coffee was stale, when it was full. If not their own roast (most do not) buy whole grains in a valve sealed bag. These are as fresh as you can get. Grind the beans right before using (do not grind until the water is boiling).
