What kind of guitar I have based on the music of my choice?
I listen to Tool, APC, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, In Flames, Deftones, Staind,, The Mars Volta, etc.. So what should I get the guitar?
I see you like progressive / alternative / hard rock. Nice =] I would suggest an Ibanez or a Schecter electric. You will need a guitar with hot humbuckers to achieve the sound you want. Individual coils Giong not to cut it. Perhaps a Mahogany Body guitar with your humbuckers are beefed tones, which is what Ibanez and Schecter guitars offer. Personally, I would go with the Ibanez just because some of his guitars HSH pickups offer options (multipurpose) if they ever change syles.

Review of Carvin bolt-T: building a better Stratocaster?
It seems that almost every guitar maker offers his take on the traditional design of Stratocaster. In fact, this "Super-Strat" guitars are everywhere. When a manufacturer decides to make an entry into this market already congested, we must ask if anything special to contribute. With the Bolt and Bolt-T line of guitars, Carvin goes back into the market bolt-neck guitar, and it does so splendid. As soon I will show, the bolt and Carvin Bolt-T should rise by Leo Fender proud.
The Carvin Bolt and Bolt-T are like Carvin instruments (except for cobalt acoustic) which are available with literally thousands of different configurations, due to the different options of hardware, pickups, wood and colors. In Bolt-T our custom, we chose an alder body with a flamed maple top. We have a beautiful red finish well. We chose a black pickguard and a humbucker in the bridge position. We have kept the individual coils in the neck and middle positions, just to keep some of the truly Strat-like sounds. Also replaced rigid bridge with a Wilkinson vibrato.
The Bolt-T has a master volume and tone pot with a standard five-way switch. The instrument also comes with a mini-switch that allows you to add the bridge pickup in positions four and five. We also have a mini-toggle that taps the humbucker in bridge, so that options Sound on the bolt-T are very sweet.
Try as we could, we could not get the Wilkinson bridge to go out of tune, and is a major blow "to the action bar. It is worth noting that also opted for blocking Sperzel tuners, so those, along with the nut Graftech went a long way to keep Carvin bolt-T in perfect tune.
If you've never played a Carvin guitar before, then you are losing some of the best guitarists to play in business. We have chosen to order our Bolt-T with 22 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets and an ebony fingerboard. We are really surprised, because I was playing much better than guitars that cost times two or three at most! Tung oil, neck, giving the feeling silky smooth finish and playability.
The guitar was shipped in a robust ABS case that is durable despite its lightness. Surprisingly, the instrument was tuned to concert pitch and fully playable when him out of the box, it's hard to believe!
Carvin bolt-T is a great game and a survey instrument, but its main feature would be the cost. We asked numerous improvements (including a flamed maple top), and the instrument was still under $ 1,000 (includes shipping). Other guitar manufacturers (including Fender) should take note of what Carvin offers very affordable cost.
However, the Carvin Bolt-T is an amazing guitar for the cost, especially if you can find a used one. If you want a guitar that gives world-class sound and playability at a low price, the Carvin Bolt-T is sure to satisfy!
