how to clean a aluminem floor real well?
ok here it is i rent an apartment with a wooden aluminem floor and it seems to be real sticky after i mop and i use mister clean mop solution any other suggestions?
i think its actually spelled linoleumsorry im a terrible speller
Whats aluminem?
Lino is waterproof and can be washed using normal household cleaners and degreasers. Try a little bit of washing up liquid, use a squeegee to draw any residue off and then wash again and allow to dry naturally.
You just need a strong detergent to break down any surface dirt and then daily wash with a light detergent and squeegee off. Don’t leave the lino to dry naturally as this results in a dirty surface.

Spill Control & Prevention – How To Mop Up The Competition!
Spill control and prevention is an essential aspect of health and safety at work – for all sorts of reasons. Liquids are the direct cause of a tremendous number of injuries and accidents both at work and in the home, and it is important to make sure that you have both the right equipment and the right understanding to be able to deal with any spillage or leak immediately, and in the right way.
Simply dabbing at a spillage with a few paper towels is obviously not the answer in many cases. A spilled drink might work this way, although if it is hot, even this could result in scalding. But there are many liquids which could prove dangerous if not lifted or dealt with straight away and in the right way. If there is an accident, and blood is lost, then it is of great importance to take great care not only to ensure that it is mopped up safely, but that it is done quickly and completely. So many infections and diseases can pass easily through bodily liquids, and blood is one of the worst. It does not do to take risks in this case.
But as well as the danger which many spilled liquids pose, there is also the matter of damage, staining and the sheer stubbornness of some liquids to be cleaned up, lifted or removed effectively. one of these such troublesome liquids is oil. If oil is spilt, whether at home or in the workplace, it poses three real problems. the first is that it is often colourless, and very hard to spot. If it is seen, it can often appear to be little more than water.
However, if oil is spilled then the second problem is its slipperiness. It is no surprise that oil is so widely used as a lubricant in machines and engines, because it provides a tremendously slippery surface. if oil is not mopped up quickly and completely then it can easily cause an accident, should someone inadvertently step on it. The third problem is the staining that can be caused through spilt oil. If oil is not lifted quickly, then it can easily seep into the fibres of any carpet or flooring, leaving a virtually permanent stain.
It is important, then, to make sure of two things: firstly that you have the right spill equipment to hand, and secondly to make sure that you have spill control and prevention procedures in place that will be followed in order to make sure that any spillage is dealt with safely, quickly and effectively. This applies both to the workplace as well as to the home.
One of the problems which liquids cause if spilt is the fact that they flow so easily, spreading and seeping into any available space. Should there be a spillage at the top of a flight of stairs, for example, it is amazing just how quickly the liquid will seep down the steps, creating an incredibly dangerous trap for anyone who isn’t aware of the fact that oil, water or some other liquid has covered the steps. For this reason, it is often a case of preventing the spillage from spreading any farther before dealing with mopping or lifting it up.
One of the common devices used in industry is a boom – simple a long, very absorbent tube which can be unwound and laid along the leading edge of the spillage, creating a very absorbent barrier. This provides you with time, as well as limiting the area affected. Leaking or broken freezers in supermarkets are one example of where this is often necessary, since the water which drains out of the freezer tends to spread across the smooth aisle floors, creating a very dangerous hazard to shoppers. using an absorbent boom prevents the water from spreading any further – particularly useful if the source of the spillage or leakage can’t immediately be stopped or prevented.
When it comes to chemical spills it is clearly of critical importance to make sure that your spill control and prevention strategies and spill equipment are suited to the task. The nature of the business or the tasks will determine the type of spill equipment or chemical spill kit that is required. but under no circumstances should guesswork be done. Attempting to clean up a chemical spill using the wrong equipment could prove extremely hazardous.
Naturally preventing spillages is preferable to dealing with them once they have occurred, but this isn’t always possible, and there is often a degree of necessary risk involved in many industrial procedures. But making sure that you are aware of the best spill control and prevention methods, and have the most suitable spill equipment nearby will go a long way to ensuring the safety and well-being of those employees, customers or passersby who may otherwise come into contact with the spillage.
